A wee Bunnahabhain collectable

Halò Single Malt Mates,

I own a Bunnahabhain unpeated 18. A guid dram. Auld and guid.

Here is a collectable that should be a great dram..

Description
Another terrific single cask from the team at Wemyss. It’s easy to see why they’ve named this cask ‘The Ice Cream Shack’; it has pulled lots of fresh vanilla and lemon notes from the sold hogshead that it was matured in. Limited to only 306 bottles.

IF I had the quid I would get this…

Thoughts on whiskey: “Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.

Description
Teeling have now built a distillery in the Liberties area of Dublin which is a major tourist attraction. In the meantime they are releasing sourced malt that they have finished and matured in a variety of casks (Madeira, white burgundy and cabernet sauvignon to name some of the more unusual varieties). It is a really good and slightly spicy Irish single malt and we simply cannot wait to try their own distillate when it arrives.

I am a Scotch Snob But I know most of you aren’t so this is for YOU!

Description
It’s kind of amazing that you can still find sherry matured 21 year old Mortlach for less than £100, but you can from Gordon and MacPhail. If you’ve never had the chance to sample this special dram before we’d urge you to grab some while you can!

Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet and Fruity – sultanas. A hint of vanilla and Sherry.
With Water: Sweet summer fruits and a hint of peppermint. A very delicate smoke note emerges.
Palate: Hints of black pepper and nuts. A fruitiness also emerges – bananas.
With Water: Very creamy with a distinct cocoa element. A very slight presence of aniseed. Mouth coating.
Finish: Long and sweet.

Thoughts on whiskey: “Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.”

This whisky is slightly over one hundred dollars. Which is a whale of a good price for a 21 year old..

I loes Mortlach. It is not too available as it is mostly used in blends..Indy bottlers usually have some available.

Description
The 9th batch to be released in Glendronach’s Grandeur edition, this whisky is the pinnacle of the expert sherry cask selection by Master Blender Billy Walker. Taken from a range of sherry butts, puncheons and hogsheads, the Grandeur highlights some of the best mature sherry characteristics that Glendronach has to offer. It combines rich sherry flavours of fruit with warming spices, tobacco and coffee.

Master distiller Billy Walker selected some of the distillery’s oldest casks from the site’s dunnage warehouses for the release.

According to the brand, the nose offers “an abundance of classic sherried fruits, rich damsons, dates and sweet plum juice”, while the palate represents an “elegant, vintage sherry style” with notes including “Mediterranean fruits, sun-dried raisins, dates, fig syrup, chocolate fondant and roasted coffee”.

This looks like a great buy! Hope I can get some soon
