Halo Single Malt Mates,
Tonite I paired a guid Benrinnes 15 year old.
First here is the whisky:
Benrinnes 15 Year Old
70cl / 43%
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
A very interesting dram, the only Speysider to be triple-distilled like a Lowland malt or Irish whiskey, but with a lot more body and character than either of those styles. Impressive stuff.
Flora & Fauna
15 Year Old
Nose: Slightly doughy. Toffee chip biscuits. Floral.
Palate: Rounded, good sweetness. A whiff of peat.
Finish: Barley, biscuity, slightly drying.
When I first nosed the whisky it smelled like a rye whisky. Then I paired it with spicy Chinese food and the bourbon came out. Just to show you how tastes can change, an hour later I could taste peaty notes in the palate.
Shows you how much fun it is to taste and pair whisky with good food..
I would like to make a toast to lying, stealing, cheating and drinking. If you’re going to lie, lie for a friend. If you’re going to steal, steal a heart. If your going to cheat, cheat death. And if you’re going to drink, drink with me.
Slàinte mhòr agus a h-uile beannachd duibh.
Great health and every good blessing to you
Your Scotch Spirit Master
